Amazing Canada!
I love the Amazing Race and look what i found...Amazing Race Canada! They don't go around the world but race all over Canada. The typical bunch of racers that you have on the American version, the gay couple, sisters, father and son, best buds and a couple of snooty racers and of course the hippie couple. The Host seems a nice chap eh, which he uses a the end of the show.
I'm liking it and i can't wait for fall for the new season of Amazing Race.
Hey Canadians you have beautiful and cool looking country...eh :)

I Think I've Found A New Favorite Show
Canadian Pickers
Like American Pickers, Canadians Pickers are two guys who travel across country looking things to pick ie buy, just not in the USA but in Canada. It great seeing the Canadian landscape, something i'll never get to see for myself. Fun show.
Now i wonder if there is a English Pickers?

Judy Greer
Judy is the only thing worth tuning in for on the once funny "Two and a Half Men". The show is like two different shows now, the funny stuff with Judy and Ashton and then the left-over part that sucks because Charlie is gone, you know the John Cryer part.
Too bad it dosen't look like Judy will be a regular cast member, hope i'm wrong on that.

Television
Boy howdy it's been a stinker of a "new" season for the major networks (especially NBC). I have never watched the CW network so can't tell you what's on there or do i care. FOX is trying to rip-off the voice cast of the Simpsons (i know a show that probably should have ended 10 years ago but it's a cash cow for FOX and it funds most of the pricey flops that FOX keeps making every year and this year's expensive flop - "Terra Nova"), I can hardly watch anything on FOX for it's constant promos of GLEE and X-Factor, two crap shows i will never watch.
Most reality shows are not and they just waste your time but being cheap to make the Networks will keep making them for now. Here's some i wouldn't mind going away forever - Dancing With The Stars, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Sing Off, X Factor, America Has Talent, Biggest Loser (this show i find so offensive for the bullying of fat people). To be honest there are two shows that i am addicted to - Amazing Race and Survivor.
NBC, the turd of American Networks...already two of their highly touted "HIT!" shows have been axed, Playboy Club and Free Agents and i'm sure Prime Suspect and please please the Whitney show (Boy Howdy does that show stink!). Prime Suspect is a travesty of the original British award winning series..Mario Bello is no Helen Mirren.
ABC....the Lifetime Channel of Primetime Networks, they don't make any shows for me (except for the Middle a very well made and funny sitcom and Castle a detective series on ABC it's such a rarity and it's done well) i'm not a gay man or a woman and there's nothing wrong with that but i'm not watching.
CBS, now this is the network i watch the most (when i'm not watching a DVD,cable nets or reading) the revamped Hawaii Five-O is better than i expected, love Mike & Molly, i'm addicted to Big Bang Theory, Amazing Race,Survivor and NCIS. How I Met Your Mother will never tell us that story and i find that annoying but otherwise the show is good but seems a bit flat this year. Two Broke Girls...they need you know "writers" badly written and not funny but it's been picked up for a full season (so what do i know?) . Two and a half Men...i like Charlie Sheen and this was Charlie Sheen's show and replacing him was a stupid mistake, yes i know it's TV's number 1 SHOW! but it was that with Charlie, the show now is chopped up into two parts that don't really blend, the part with the old cast thanking themselves for being disloyal to Charlie to keep their paychecks and doing Charlie-less "comedy" and the Ashton Kutcher mug at the camera and being puppy dog cute part of the show storyline about his wife and how stupid he is part ( i find it amusing that Ashton who was supposed to be the anti-Charlie Sheen is now being exposed in real life to be just as much of woman chaser as Charlie and Demi Moore is heading to the divorce court or so they say...) Bring Charlie back Chuck Lorre you made a mistake but i guess your ego won't let you do that, CBS won't cancel the show now but i can't see it having another season.
OK this post waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long so i'll stop here.

New TV Season
So the new television season has started, pretty much with a whimper and not a bang. I didn't watch Dancing With The Who The Heck Are These "Stars"?, don't know what was on the CW..i mean who watches that anyways? So that left NBC...some crappy American Idol rip-off was on there so that left CBS. CBS gave us two new episodes of How I Meet Your Mother for some reason...i'm afraid the show is skating along now after seeing these two episodes, it's still better and funnier than most sitcoms on the air but REALLY..have him meet the Mother already....this gimmick is old and way tired now or just get rid of the un-funny nebbish guy and make the show more about the really funny characters, now we get to the much anticipated (so the press says) Two and a Half Men...it sucked, Ashton Kutcher was...Ashton Kutcher (you know, the un-funny Kutcher) his big gag was to get naked and the producers thought that was so knee-slapping funny they did the gag again ( i mean if i want lame jokes repeated over and over i'll watch Family Guy) the show's writers basically Chuck Lorre and his vendetta against Sheen wrote a ham-fisted slam against Charlie...Charlie Sheen has shown more class in this whole contrived debacle of Mr. Lorre's...the show is dead, it needs Charlie, i bet by December it'll be put on hiatus. Now there's Two Poorly Acted Girls or whatever this "Dead Sit Com Walking" is called, i mean Sh*t My Dad Says had more laughs..cliche written, badly acted (Kate Dennings cannot act) badly casted etc etc, i turned to watch the finale of Hell's Kitchen and then the Charlie Sheen roast which was funny. Hawaii Five-O was ok (Commercial breaks were so long i could watch the Roast without missing anything on H5O) typical well made action series which CBS does well. I totally forgot if Castle was on or not mostly because it's out of place on ABC which seems to try to be the Lifetime channel with the shows they air.
OK that's my report, i think i'll watch more PBS until Thursday when Big Bang Theory comes back, that i know will be funny.

Storage Wars
If i did the storage auction job for a living, i know who i'd be...
Barry Weiss.
Quirky, funny, old and having way too much fun.

Big Brother
Rachel won Big Brother, i didn't expect that when the season started because she can annoy a Baptist into swearing like a sailor with her antics. But after her allies got picked off one by one she played a smart game against the newbies and did the right thing to eliminate Adam (he would have beaten her) and kept Porsche (who really just floated her way through the game and not making any real allies in the game).
Can i say i find Rachel a sexy redhead? Well i do. :)

Upstairs Downstairs
Upstairs Downstairs, one of my favorite shows ever. Nothing makes the old dragon here happier than watching an episode of the series. Can't really explain why i love the show so much but it's like the Avengers and Doctor Who, i just loved it from the start.
And they're making new episodes with Rose as the only returning cast member.

Invisibles
Nice little British crime series that starred Anthony Head and seems to have only run one series back in 2008. I totally enjoyed the stories about the "The Invisibles" trying to stay retired from crime but being dragged back into the game.
On region 1 DVD from Acorn.

Two And A Half Men
I like the show, so sue me. It's not the greatest and it surely isn't the worst sit com (i mean really have you ever seen the crap Fox,CW have spewed out?).
I'm not in the crowd that hates Charlie Sheen or cares what he does with his personal life, i just happen to like a show he does.
I love Jane Lynch but even she can't get me to watch Glee (and she used to be a semi-regular on, yep you guessed it Two and a Half Men).
I'd like to see the show come back but if it dosen't that's the way it goes.

Shat My Shat Says
You know it’s not that this show is a total flop but it is bad, Shat is doing his best with the crap scripts they give him but last night it looked like he was reading off idiot cards (i’m thinking they had some late script changes and Shat didn’t have time to learn the new lines or he’s given up on the show already). You do see Shat looking at the camera more and giving us the “I know it’s shit but i’m getting paid” look.
They keep "Tweeking" the show, had the older son and wife move in (the actor playing the younger son is so laid back he fades into the background in every scene he's in even when Shatner isn't there), they've got Shat's character a love interest now. It all seems so desperate.
I don't see this series coming back unless CBS thinks they can fix it (probably a mass re-tooling of the series, ditvhing the younger son, getting Shat's character more out in the world and being less grumpy and the older son and wife and the new gf featured more.)

SS Leno Sinking

Jay Leno is sinking in the ratings and it couldn't happen to better backstabber, i think people caught on to his "i'm innocent" act and are just not buying his schtick any more. He's getting lower ratings than Conan did and Letterman is beating him.
Finally America see's how un-funny Jay Lamo is.

Happy now NBC?

Lewis

One of my favorite Detective series is back on (and in a couple of months back on American tv via PBS) the air in the UK. Lewis (Inspector Lewis in the US) is a spin-off of the classic Morse, DSI now Inspector Lewis running the show.
It might be slow for jaded, young non-fans of good ole British mysteries but it's perfect for me, like seeing an old friend again.
Kevin Whately (who's been playing Lewis since 1987) is perfect as Robbie Lewis. It's a good show and check it out on ITV in the UK and PBS here in the US.
