Blondie

Sunday Girl, one of Blondie's nicest pop tunes. I love Debbie's singing on this song, she looks so beautiful, no wonder i got a crush on her (still do).

Enjoy!

Sundays With Santo

Guest Starring Blue Demon!
Well also Blue Demon Jr. and El Hijo Santo (El Santo's son), they carry on the tradition of their fathers.
I always liked the Blue Demon but his solo films aren't easy to find in the english speaking world.

Super Balls

Boy i can't tell you how much fun i had with super balls, they bounced into my life when i was going to R,B. Hunt Elementary School where you had good surface to bounce them, concrete and asphalt. I had big collection at one time, all sizes from the normal size to the mini super balls in all colors. Neat tricks like karate chopping them to make them bounce from side to side. I had what i think was a rare super ball made by Marx Toys which was a weird blue color but the best ones were from Wham-O. I think still make them, wish i knew what happened to mine.

Dick Clark

America's Oldest Teenager, Dick Clark has passed away at 82.
For so many years Dick Clark brought Rock & Roll, R&B, Pop and Soul to America's teenagers on his American Bandstand, it ran from the 50's to the late 80's.
A workaholic only a stroke a few years back slowed him up.
Thanks Dick for all music.

Place4Friends

I don't know how many years ago i joined this meet your match site but it was free up to a point, i still get the email saying someone has flirted with me (usually from some fictious town in a far away state and they're always "never been married" etc etc ). Since i never paid for a membership, the free bit had strings surprise surprise, i could never contact the women and one time guy ( that was weird ). I bring this up because this morning was flirt from someone in the UK, why would a young lady of 28 from Nottingham want to flirt with some old guy in the US?
Sure maybe it was natural animal magnetism *pause for laughter*
She had no photo so i'm guessing she isn't real but a spammer of some sort.
Now i'm sucker for woman with a brit accent...just another odd thing to add to what is turning out to be an odd day.

James Hong Week

Never So Few, the Frank Sinatra war film starring Frank, our pal James,Peter Lawford (before Frank kicked him to the curb), Charles Bronson, Gina Lolabrigda ( in late 50's fashion instead of the 40's), Steve McQueen and many more familiar. Film can be exciting when in the wilds of Burma but it gets painfully slow when Frankie woos the miscast Gina, it just kills the film. James plays the part of coniving Chinese leader. Oh look for George Takei in a small role.

James Hong Week

James Hong in probably his most famous cult role from Big Trouble In Little China, Lo Pan.
Great role and one he seemed to enjoy. Big Trouble is one my favorite films and it has James Hong!

James Hong Week

James Hong in one of earliest film roles, chinese soldier in the John Wayne film "Blood Alley". He's actually one of the few asian american actors playing chinese in the movie, most of the speaking parts were played white actors like Paul Fix and Mike Mazurki.
Not a bad action flick but heavy on the cartoon right wing anti-commie propganda that films of this era were full of.

James Hong Week

James in Balls Of Fury
A silly spoof on paing pong ala Enter The Dragon, Hong is pretty good (as always) as the blind Master who's teaching the white slacker of a hero. Christopher Walken plays the bad guy..what more could ask for in a movie?
Turn your mind off and enjoy the film.

James Hong Week

I'm not involved with official James Hong Week that's going online this week but i am huge fan of the actoe and shall do my own little tribute here. Go here to Steve Thompson 's page BookSteve' Library http://booksteveslibrary.blogspot.com/ for the official sites and links.

Here's James in one of his many, many tv roles : Chinese waiter on the Big Bang Theory (first season).
Hong is one of those character actors you go "Oh that guy!" when you see him pop up in a film or tv show.
Enjoy my little eclectic week to honor James Hong.
Coming soon - John Le Mesurier Week!

Hero's Cars

Only El Santo would have a cool car like this, naturally a converteble so Santo could hop out fast to fight Mummies and assorted monsters.
Plus chicks dig the car.
Viva El Santo!

Sundays With Santo

Happy Easter and Viva El Santo!

Mike Wallace

Mike Wallace has died at 93.
To me he was 60 Minutes, enjoyed his stories with celebs and rooting out the bad guys.
He had long a long career in TV, 60 Minutes won't be the same without him.
